Since 2000 Johann Horch and seven universities developed this novel core. Significantly involved in the development process were Marek Wester, Prof. Dr. Peter Dierich and Prof. Dr. Jörg Schulze.
The foundations of munio are the findings of Harry Markowitz, who received the Nobel prize in economic sciences in 1990. However munio eliminates the weaknesses of the traditional approach of Markowitz.
